Carole - found these prices on www.mobissimo.com - just threw in Outbound 9/8 with return 9/15, was not sure how long you wanted to stay!

Same flights through two different booking agents. Not sure how long you'll be staying. I always like Mobissimo and have used them to find other websites with great prices. I have used Lessno and Vayama before with no issues!

If you can travel Tues-Thurs, you'll find cheaper rates. 9 Sept-24 Sept finds SEA-FCO for $915 on Kayak.com.

Gosh if I had known several of you would have been so helpful, I would have given more info!! I went on Mobissimo and cheapest I could find was $1160. I am traveling mid week. LV September 3 Return October 1 SEA-ROME. Hmm - is the fact I am staying longer a factor? Or did the quote you had not include taxes and fees?

I think it has more to do with leaving in very early September. If you pushed back your schedule one week (depature and return) you can find RT fares (including taxes, etc) for $975. Search websites that look at many fare sites, like kayak.com, for the next week or so. Check every chance you get (at least once daily), and you may see the prices vary considerably throughout the week. But with departure for early September, you may be stuck with $1150 or $1200 at this point, simply because increasingly higher fuel charges are being laid on.
