Planning early May visit to Milan & want to visit Last Supper. Is it better to go on my own, with ticket purchased online ahead of time? Are there guides available to give info.
Book the English( or French?) tour along with your online ticket
It wasn’t too expensive and we found it very worthwhile
You’ll need to book tix the minute they go on sale
( unless your dates have already opened and may be already gone)
In that case you can book a tour with a company such as Walks of Italy
The only way to visit is with a guide. The entry tickets you purchase online are for a group visit at the specified time with a guide from the site. He or she will first talk about the work and then lead the group in to see if.
When we visited the English tours were all sold out so I booked an Italian one. At least we’d get in and be able to see it. It turned out half the group didn’t speak Italian and the guide spoke in both Italian and English, so it worked out.
