You can always show up and stand in line.

So much to see & do in Firenze! Do you have a guidebook with you? The Bargello, Santa Croce, San Miniato al Monte, Duomo Museum/Baptistry/Campanile, wandering and stopping in at any place that catches your eye...(this is NOT a waste of time)! Also, ask your Airbnb host for suggestions.

You could book a tour with a reputable company like Walks of Italy for a walking tour that will include all of those places, IF they have spaces available. It will cost you, but they are a really outstanding company.

I see in one of your previous posts that you're not much into art anyway, and there no rule saying you HAVE to see the Uffizi and Accademia. There are plenty other museums in Florence, and plenty of those won't be as difficult to digest as the Uffizi.

But didn't you bring a guidebook? Those are largely essential for figuring out what appeals to you when looking for sightseeing activities and should be your first reference.

That said, try these:
Museo San Marco
Museo Bargello
Piazza Michelangelo and San Miniato church (above the piazza)
Piazza della Signoria and Loggia dei Lanzi
Piazza della Santissima Annunziata, (a favorite of mine) church of the same name and Innocenti Museum.
Santa Croce (Michelangelo is buried here)
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Trinita
Santa Maria del Fiore (duomo): the church itself is free - no tickets needed except for the dome - but you'll likely have to stand in line. A cumulative ticket will be available at the ticket office that will get you into the the museum, baptistry, crypt and belltower, if you wish to climb it, so the only piece you'd miss would be the dome.

That's just a start! Some of these will provide a look at Renaissance artwork - some of that still in place after many centuries - that won't be as overwhelming as the Uffizi to manage. If you didn't bring a guidebook, this is a good website for ideas and information:

Hi !

Thanks to all for the answers. We have Rick Steve Florence and Lonely planet small Florence guide.
I know I said we are not that much into art but after seeing sistine chapelle, and la Pietà we would have like to see the David too.

We have made reservations for Uffizi at 14:45...not ideal but we will at least escape the heat a bit ! We only got a email that Say we have to show that voucher at ticket office. There's no QR code or code bar is it normal ?

Firenze card?

Oh yes. If you think you can make good enough use of it over your 4 days to break even on it (or nearly so), then this is your trick for getting into the Uffizi and Accademia. It also covers the duomo complex although you may still be too late to get reservations to climb the dome. Read about how to do that in the FAQ section of the card's website. DO be aware that the clock on your 72 consecutive hours of use starts ticking the minute you collect your ticket and make your reservation, if that's the first thing you do with the card.

Yes.

As a last resort for Accademia, you could book tickets through one of the companies with people standing near the corner of Via Ricasoli and Via degli Alfani selling tours. I've never used them, but they look reputable (although probably pricy).

Just to let you know that it is still quite warm inside the Uffizi! so dress accordingly.
The Bargello is a great Museum, I liked it better than the crowded Uffizi.
If you are too hot, go to the Ferragamo Shoe Museum; it's beautifully air conditioned, and really interesting as well!
Also, to cool down; just step into any church and have a quiet seat till you feel cooler.
Try and pick the unknown ones if you find any.
Enjoy lovely Florence.

Try to catch the number 7 bus up the hill to Fiesole for a walkabout and lunch. Go back one evening for dinner at La Reggia, aim for outdoor seating if possible. Great view from up there.

Many first timers (if that is your case) miss the gardens and neighbourhoods south of the river.

Many will stump for Siena for a day trip, if that is in your plans, but I'd take a bus to Greve and Panzano. I don't recall the market days but they can be fun.

We were in Florence on a May 1 when almost everything was closed, but our hotel directed us to the Boboli Gardens -- lovely! Highly recommend Museo San Marco and the Fra Angelico murals. Medici tombs! Baptistry !!
Te amo, Firenze.

If you do end up at the academia to see the David, also go to the section that has his "partially carved" prisoners..... amazing
