We leave in morning by train after three nights in Lake Como(Varenna). We have to train to Milan and then to Brescia to meet friends. But we don't see them until 5:30 p.m. Where can we spend some time? Any easy hop off spot? Or maybe spend more time in Milan(we have four hours in Milan Centrale District on our way up to Varenna). Or maybe somewhere in Brescia near the train station? Thanks for any suggestions.

That's easy: Bergamo! The medieval town is up on a hill (funicular or some such will get you there). There's a secondary train line that goes there, and on from there to Brescia. A quick Google indicates that there is luggage storage in Bergamo, but I didn't click through to check on the details.
