Hi we are travelling to Italy in Nov and my husband would like to explore the city where his ancestors are from: Avellino. Would there be a bnb? or agritourism place to stay nearby?

There will be plenty. Maybe November may not be the best time for a farm stay (agriturismo), but there will be plenty of accommodations of all types. Avellino is not a small village, it's a small city.
You can check www.booking.com or similar website to find plenty of choices. If you decide to stay somewhere outside of town (in a country hotel or villa or agriturismo), you will need a car.
