Agriturismo Tarantola, www.gorgodeldrago.it. It is outside of Alcamo. It is a little off the beaten path, well, maybe a bit more than a little. It's rustic, breakfasts are Sicilian, coffee, pastry, homemade jams. The thing that recommends this place the most is the outstanding nightly dinners. Some of the best homemade, authentic meals we have had anywhere in Sicily. It is also a working vineyard (a very large one). Most of the grapes are sold but Tarantola does have it's own label and you can purchase their wine at the agriturismo.

Since you did not specify what level of comfort you wished, I am suggesting this one even it is just so you can get an idea of what is out there.

We did Segesta, Selinunte and just some back road driving from Tarantola. We also used Castellammare del Golfo as a base for one of our previous trips to Sicily. Hotel Al Madarig was our hotel there. Since we were last there a couple of other small hotels have opened. Castellammare is an easy off and on the A20.

I presume you will have a car.
I like to stay in quaint Scopello a small village of approximately 120 residents (and 10 times as many visitors) located right next to the Zingaro Natural Reserve

Here are some accommodations located right “downtown” Scopello.

They are all good. It’s a matter of the level of luxury (and price) you like.

If you prefer Agriturismo accommodations this one is located near Segesta, between Castellammare and Trapani. Logistically it’s perfect since it is near the main highways.

I’ve never stayed here, because I generally like to stay in Scopello closer to the sea (and you can’t beat the Zingaro Reserve), but I like to eat at this Baglio (farm complex) when I went to Segesta. The owner gave me a tour of the entire property and it’s really nice.
