Hi,
We will be spending 3 nights in Siena in January. After too many hours of reading and researching, can anyone recommend a nice place to stay under $125.00 per night? We might want to spend one day in Siena and the other seeing the nearby towns...hopefully by bus.

has a great location inside the walls at about your price. The Alma Domus is cheaper and has less frills but still has a great location inside the walls.
Try the Palazzo Brucchi, just a few minutes walk from il Campo. Very quiet, looks out over courtyard and view.

Hi Julie, We stayed at Albergo Bernini as well and liked it a lot! We used Siena as a base to visit Florence by bus. Have a great trip!
We stayed at Hotel Santa Caterina, a lovely hotel with an very nice breakfast. Look it up. It is right side the city wall, and with a bus stop up the street. Very lovely location.

We are staying at Albergo Bernini in March. I did a lot of research on this site and trip advisor and found lots of good reviews for them. Hope you enjoy your trip.
I second the Alma Domus suggestion--simple, quiet, picturesque, and inexpensive.
We also found the Alma Domus to be a great deal...lots of character, fabulous location and an amazingly low price.
We had some problems with Albergo Bernini. We booked far in advance and they required us to mail a money order which we did. Sadly Italy's mail system is not one of the best and the MO didn't arrive. As we were leaving Florence for Siena we fortunately checked out email to find that they had given our room away (with no prior notice).
I got no apology just some blathering about how they were world famous and thousands of people were trying to get reservations LOL.
We were VERY VERY fortunate to get in at the Palazzo Brucchi which was totally delightful. It took months for me to get the money order traced and the money refunded.
