Then we will be back at Civitaveccia from may 21 until May 25 when we catch a plane at Fiumica at 2 pm. We need help with reasonalby price places to stay. Stairs are not good, but walking is ok. We have never been to Rome, so downtown probably is best. We don't have to have a private bath. hotels, apartments, pensiones or onvents are all thigs we are looking at. Thanks so much.
Please check out this website: www.cross-pollinate.com It is a bed and breakfast and apartment booking agency owened and operated my an American family living in Rome. I have used them many times and they are also recommended in Rick Steves books. They also have a wonderful small hotel near the termini train station in Rome. The area is not that pretty but it is very safe and the rooms are all on the first floor. The subway is two blocks away at the train station. Anyway, have a wonderful time and enjoy.

We were in Rome April 28-May 8, 2007 and stayed at Gulliver's Place B&B for the 10 days. It was about 90 Euros a night and we had a private bathroom, safe and a great breakfast every day. It was close to the Termini station (about a 5-10 minute walk) and so it great to get around Italy and Rome as all the metro lines and all the train lines are accessiable from the station. We felt safe in this area as well. The employees were great and the other people were were travelling with were jealous of the map we got at check in that the employee went over with us and marked out sites we would like to see. The actual B&B is in a secured buidling. It had free internet as well wich was nice and a phone that we could call all over Italy on but not to any cell phones. They are on the second floor but there was an elevator We were travelling with our duaghter how was 11.5 months and never found the stairs too bad.
