My husband, daughter and I will be visiting Milan & Lake Como.
I figured it will be more cost effective to stay in Milan. What are your recommendations for places to stay?

We liked our stay at Hotel Duca di York.
Walking distance to Duomo, Last Supper, metro/tram, Galleria
If you'll be day tripping by train consider staying near Milano Centrale.
Hotel Berna and Hotel Garda are often mentioned here.
