I am trying to find decently cheap places to stay in Bologna. I will be there at the beginning of June. Any suggestions?

you can search by location, price, ** or whatever.
Don't always have to give a credit card, depends on the hotel. YOu can see pics of the rooms, breakfast room, front of the hotel. Maps show you exactly where the hotel is...college distict, main square, train station, etc. Bookmark this site for all your future travels to Italy!

I also booked on Venere for my stay in Bologna last year. It worked out well. Look at a map. Everything is close to the train station.

Have just come back from Bologna and cheap places are a bit hard to find. They have a lot of trade exhibitions and so there is a high number of business travellers and the hotel rates can be quite steep. I use Venere and also Trip Advisor. Both excellent sites. Depending on what you are going/looking for the historical centre is lovely but the outskirts are very industrial.
