As we depart Venice at Marco Polo airport should we eat a late breakfast/early lunch prior to our 1:05 flight (13:00) or will there be a place to pick up a quick snack around Marco Polo? The airline will feed us lunch, but as we all know it wont be very edible.
Marco Polo airport, like every airport, has food services at the airport.
There is a snackbar downstairs when you go through security and a restraunt/light meal place upstairs. not a whole lot of options, but enough for such a small airport.
Actually, Kelly, the plane food put on in Italian (or French) airports isn't so bad. And, on international flights, they tend to feed you often.
They have a food court area way down to the right as you walk in the main doors but before you go to the ticketing gate. Plenty of choices, if a little confusing to navigate.
Thank you! All of your replies have helped. Looking forward to our trip, just a couple more weeks!
How late are the food/snack courts open at the airport? I am probably going to get to the airport around midnight and stay the night at the airport since my flight leaves at 6:05 am.
I believe there is a place that sells pizza, etc..outside of the main security. Inside security, I bought a toasted panini and something to drink near the gate. There was also a coffee bar- I had some kind of coffee mixed alcohol drink called the Venetian I think near the shops area when you go past security.
Not sure how late the food places are open but I would guess they close up maybe 10pm. I believe they open up again around 5:30am. On my last visit in February 2009, my Italian fiancee at the time decided I should be at the airport 3 hours before the flight (6:50AM)! hahaha I think we got there around 4am and the doors to the front of the airport were closed. We went down to where the arrivals exit and went up a level to get inside. I checked in electronically and we waited for the airport to open. ahhh, la dolce vita! (I had a croissant and coffee when they opened up the pastry shop).
