My husband and I are finishing up our amazing trip through Italy. We"re staying in Rome near the Colosseum and dont want to "back track" by leaving our luggage at the train station tomorrow. Our Vatican reservations are for 9am and we need to be at the airport at 4pm. Any ideas?? Grazie!!!

Are you planning to take the Leonardo Express to the airport? If so, you'll be going to Termini anyway.
Otherwise it could be a bit of a challenge, since your hotel isn't in the area. The Vatican has a bag check, but it's really more for daypacks than suitcases. I suppose if you have packed lightly enough, you could try it.
Hopefully someone else may have a better idea.

You can leave you luggage at St. Peter's. We did this last year when we had to catch a train to catch our ship after our Vatican Tour. What we did was got to St. Peters early and checked it there and then when we finished with the vatican using the exit to st. peters we just picked up our luggage. They take fairly large suitcases. There is also a train station near the Vatican, not sure if you can take that to the airport or not, we were able to take it to the port to catch our cruise.
