Back in 1978 I spent a month on the island of Giglio, and I want to return to the island with my wife for a few nights in April on our way to Cinque Terra. The pensione I stayed in in 1978 apparently no longer exists. Can anyone on this forum recommend a B&B or hotel on Giglio?

We stayed in Porto Santo Stefano at a decent pensione. It had a sea view terrace to die for although the room was rather mundane. Took the ferry to/from Isola di Giglio each day. PSS is quite charming since the waterfront was renovated and we thought the restaurant choices excellent. If you are interested, let me know.
