We understand this is not a good time to hike, but we'd love to see the little church of St. Magdalena if possible. Anyone been here at this time of year? Thanks.
Hello, I stayed in St Magdalena 17-18 April this year. It is a very small village and the few eateries were mostly closed but 1 or 2 were open at weekends I think, we were Monday and Tuesday. There was a small general shop open with a nice selection of cheeses nad cold meats etc, very yum. We were lucky to have perfect weather. The view of the mountains was a highlight of our 4 week trip. It was even more stunning than photos we had seen. You can't get close to the church as access is blocked with fencing etc but the village, countryside and mountains are amazingly beautiful. The church was still in the view. We walked a beautiful fairly short track to the next little town St Peters, maybe an hour or so each way I think and had a nice lunch at a restaurant. There was also a general store there we bought dinner supplies from. The church at St Peters I loved, gorgeous. We used public transport to get to St Magdalena which worked well if you research it well. A truly gorgeous place. Maybe not so much fun if very bad weather but we loved it. I would recommend it just hope the weather is your friend. Without a car 2 nights would be enough probably but longer with a car would be ok as you could explore or go to bigger towns if you wanted.
PERFECT!!!
