Hello,
My husband and I are traveling to the Amalfi Coast area in early October and would love to hear some thoughts about good places to stay. It could be a hotel or through Air BnB, we just want a good area (a view would be nice), and something less then $200 per night. Someone else said Positano is great, and I would like to hear what areas you guys like the best.
Thanks so much!
Amanda
Go to booking.com, enter Positano and your dates. You'll see a wide range of hotels. For apartment rentals, SleepinItaly has some there.
Alberto California in Positano. Great accommodation for under 200
Love Positano. I would recommend you stay there.
I took the local bus from there down to Amalfi - great ride. Sit on the "water" side of the bus for great views of the Sea.
On an RS trip we stayed in Hotel Savoia. Every room had a small balcony or patio overlooking the sea.
I like La Maurella in Praiano. Small hotel, family run, parking onsite, near a bus stop. Near the sea.
I hesitate to mention this, since it is over your budget, but I highly recommend the Villa Cocles - my SO and I spent a wonderful week there in October 2015. It is a two bedroom apartment up toward the top of the town, and it has a huge terrace with a fabulous view, and an enormous, fully equipped kitchen with a view of the ocean. It runs $250 a night, but if you can cook and are comfortable buying groceries in Italy, you could economize by eating in. It is an easy walk to the local grocery, produce vendor and meat and poultry market.
We stayed here just outside Positano this past Sept., managed by Eden Roc Hotel. Loved the space & multiple patios. Near stairs to Arienzo beach & roughly 20-25 minute walk to the ferry which we took to Capri & Amalfi. SITA bus stop right in front. https://www.airbnb.ca/rooms/10938934?s=5fZqgntJ
We really enjoyed Villa La Tartana in Positano. Stayed there five years ago for the first time and my son and his wife have been there twice since the, last time this September. Lovely bed and breakfast. This should fit your budget. Try their own website because once we tried thru hotels.com and it said they were full yet on their own website we secured their room.
