Place to stay in mountains near Medetteranian

After spending 2 nights in Chamonix, looking for a place for 2 nights between Turin and the sea. We have a car so planning on driving to French Riveria for a day trip and second day going from hotel to Cinque Terre. Any suggestions on a city/town to stay? I am talking about travel plans for this coming June?

You could either stay at the towns of Genoa or Liguria which are right on the sea. Very beautiful places.
