I plan to stay four nights in Bologna. Has anyone stayed in a centrally located place not too far from the train station, quiet, and reasonably priced for a single?

We're staying at Albergo Centrale in May. There are several recommendations on this forum.
The middle of the (large) historic district is probably at least a 20-minute walk from the train station. You don't want to be right at the train station, anyway, because it has a lot of fast-food places and is probably sort of noisy if you have a street-facing room. Just a very few blocks from the train station, you are in a much more attractive area--though I don't know exactly where you'll find hotels.
Depending on the balance of your planned activities during your Bologna stay (local sightseeing vs. day-trips), you can decide whether you'd like to be super close to the middle of the centro storico or not quite that far from the trains station. I walked back and forth, but someone mentioned recently that the bus routes between the train station and the centro storico (much of which is pedestrianized) aren't identical. It's a much quicker trip in one direction vs. the other. Unfortunately, I don't remember which trip is shorter.
Another vote for Albergo Centrale - perfect location. I was there 3 nights and really enjoyed Bologna.
