Good morning, I’m a 65-year-old male traveling to Florence Italy middle of April. Any recommendations on a place to stay? Thanks
Take a look at the Hotel Loggiato dei Serviti: www.loggiatodeiservitihotel.it. We had a great stay there back in 2010. Hope it's still as nice.
I have stayed at Hotel Davanzanti in Florence several times as a solo traveler. They have single rooms available. There are also some nice, small hotels near the train station.
What is your budget? You may find a nice apartment on AirBnB for under $110/night.
Hotel Mario’s. No lift. 3 star hotel. Ideally located.
Also enjoyed a 2 night stay at Hotel Santa Croce. Was a 2minute amble to the Basilica Santa Croce. Also close the the Bargello sculpture museum which i throughly enjoyed.
As improbable as the name sounds, check out Hotel California. Beautiful facility, reasonably priced, and very easy to walk to everything.
Thanks, for the info . My first trip to Europe, go to love retirement!!!
You’ve chosen a lovely city to explore on your first visit to Europe.
While there if you want a good meander for mind and body climb the steps up to the Plaza Michelangelo. From there stroll further up the road to the Porte Sante Cemetary. The view of Florence from the Plaza Dei Vescovi is fantastic. I was also fascinated by the cemetary.
Ate at Trattoria Cammillo after exploring the places mentioned above. Simply liked the look of the place. Great find!
Florence is a city where walking is the best way to discover intriguing sights.
Have a wonderful time!
