Place for lunch near Borghese Gallery

My husband, adult daughter, and I have reservations at the Borghese Gallery at 11 am on Sunday, May 22nd. We are planning to take a cab to Catacombs of San Callisto in the afternoon after 2pm. We are looking for a place to eat lunch in between. I know the Borghese Gallery is somewhat isolated and was wondering which way to head for lunch and/or to pick up a cab.

You can walk to the Via Veneto to find places to eat. There are quite a few nice restaurants along the street. It's about a 10 minute walk so not too bad. If all else fails there's a Hard Rock Cafe on the Via Veneto. At the other end of the Via Veneto, in the piazza Barberini, you'll find a cab rank for your trip to the Catacombs. Donna

We did as Donna suggests. Along Via Veneto we visited the Capuchin Crypt in the Church of the Immaculate Conception which isn't a must see in Rome until you've been there.

I would get a cab and head toward the Appia Antica, and eat at Hostaria Antica Roma http://www.anticaroma.it/en/index2.html. It's a few "blocks" from your catacombs; but I would never walk it because the roads out there are lined by walls and there is no shoulder to walk on The restaurant can call a cab to take you to the catacombs after lunch. Hailing a cab at the gate/entrance to the museum could be a big hassle. There is a hotel one block up hill from the museum and I would ask the hotel to call a cab for you for the ride out to Appia Antica. You will love the museum. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apollo_and_Daphne

La Bruschetta, just off the Via Veneto at Via Sardegna 39 is a good, inexpensive restaurant. This area has a lot of high end shops and luxury hotels so it can be pricey - be careful!
