I will be in Naples next week, and of course, eating pizza. My concern is, I cannot eat a whole pizza, I am a one slice person. Is it ok, or taboo, to take the rest home? Would a pizzeria be ok with it, as opposed to a restaurant?
The pizzas are generally smaller in size, like plate-size not platter-size. But, sure -- you are free to ask for a box to go!
Some of the pizzerias even serve pizza by the slice.
At one of the some popular places, they have gone to having two lines, one for dine in, the other for take out, so you may very well be able to get one to go, and do what you wish with it.
As the previous poster said, the pizzas are not very big, a thinner crust, and sparsely topped, so you might be able to eat more than you think. Really the only taboo is sharing a pizza if two of you go, taking the left over with you, that's fine.
