Pitti Palace--Worth a Visit?

I would like feedback from travelers who have visited the Pitti Palace. I understand separate tickets must be purchased for the different areas of the palace. I am more interested in architectural/historical aspects of the palace and the way of life of the Medici family than the art. What parts of the palace would be best to visit?

You would want to see the apartments. They are amazing and the art collection is unreal.

I visited last week and opted for the Tour that offered views of apartments of the Medicis and the modern art gallery... I was not overly enthused about either...given the pricing structure of the tickets [not cheap]. In fairness, I was sort of getting weary of museums....I wished that I had opted for touring the Bobboli Garden instead of the Pitti Palace.

for what it's worth, that's my input.

Hi we went last year but did not do a set tour. We did see the apartments and the gardens. The gardens were our favorite part, but it was a wonderful fall day.
