Pitti palace Florence

The palace apparently has several museums. For an overview of the palace which part is the best to see .

Galleria Palatina is probably the most important. You also shouldn't miss the Giardino di Boboli.
I heard the Museo delle Carrozze is interesting. Haven't made it there yet. Lived there for decades, and still haven't visited everything in Florence. Oh well. I boarded a cable car for the first time after 10 years in San Francisco.

Galleria Palatina, for sure, but it's time-consuming: 28 rooms. If you don't REALLY like art, you may just want to do the gardens.

The Medici Chapel is beautiful. They're doing some restoration work and parts of the main chapel may be obscured by scaffolding, but it's still worth seeing. Some of the small rooms leading to the main chapel have very important statues that you get to see close up, and the art in the entry area is also quite interesting (at least it was to me).

To offer the opposite viewpoint, the Medici Chapels were a least favorite of Florentine attractions. Yes, they're very grand but just not as interesting as so many other things that we saw. Yes, there are some sculptures by Michelangelo but, I don't know, the place just sort of left us cold. ...although I'm not sorry we took the time to see it.

You've had a lot of questions about things to see on this trip? Have you looked up information and pictures on any of them? Having a descriptive and visual idea of what it is you might be seeing can be a big help when making a must-do list. Historical background can be useful as well.

Museum-wise? We thought the Bargello and San Marco trumped the Pitti Palace and Medici Chapels.
