Pitti Palace - Florence

I will be visiting Florence at the end of October and was wondering if the Royal Apartments will be opened? I emailed [email protected] a few times but never heard back. Does anyone have any suggestions or know how I could find out?

Thank you!!

I was just there a little over a week ago and although the apartments were not open, there was still room after room of glorious decoration and artwork to see.

@ KB,
Thank you for your reply. Did you have a guide or know if guides were available for the museum?

We went today! (9/25) & some of the apartments were open. Lots to see. If you are doing the garden too, be prepared to hike up concrete/gravelly stairs. Views from the top make it worth the climb.

@tmohmc I did not have a guide. I don’t know if guides were available. They do have information stands in each room. I didn’t feel I lost anything by not having a guide.

We also went today and none of the apartments nor the Costume Gallery were open. The Pitti is a much more lavish palace than the Palazzo Vecchio. When you view the art, pay attention to those that are angled a bit from the wall-more famous artists than others. Tons of art! We ran out of time to enjoy the “modern” section so hope to go back for that as it is of more interest to us. Side note-we liked the Bardini Garden more than the Boboli, but it’s worth seeing both if you have the time.
