What is the fastest way to get from Pitigliano to Venice? We will have a rental car in Pitigliano but would love to take a high speed train to Venice from a city near Pitigliano. Any suggestions?

There are 2 Pitigliano that I know of. The most famous is in Maremma (Province of Grosseto), another Pitigliano is between Sansepolcro and Citta' di Castello. It's small and I know it only because I know that area well. Assuming you are staying in Maremma, an option would be to return your car in Orvieto and then proceed by train (one train change in Florence). From the Pitigliano in Maremma and Venice you need to pass by Orvieto anyhow, so you might as well return your car there. Unless of course you want to keep it to roam around Tuscany and Emilia on the way there. If you are staying in the less famous Pitigliano (near Citta' di Castello), drive to Venice, because the train options are too long from there.
