Does anyone know if there's a bus from the station to the San Zeno cathedral and where/how to find the bus, in case hubby doesn't want to walk there? Same question about bus from Prato station to the central piazza. Thanks!

There is a bus depot at Pistoia station. Should be one to the Duomo (or close). If you take one of the frequent regional trains to Prato Porta Al Serraglio, it is an easy walk (200 yards) to the Piazza del Duomo, if that is what you are referring to as the central piazza.

It is less than a kilometer (0.6 miles) to the Duomo from the main station in Pistoia. Easy walk.
Prato Duomo is a little more, maybe 1.5 kilometers from the station.
