Has anyone used the baggage check desk at pisa Centale? If so, how secure are your bags? Does your luggage/bags go into a locker? We will only be spending a few hours, need a secure to store luggage
They have a "lefft luggage" counter. You show your passport, pay a fee and they store your bag in a room behind the counter with many shelves. It's inexpensive, secure, and easy. For a list of other airport and train luggage storage options, check out Left Luggage Facilities in Italy.
Luggage just goes on a shelf--we used it last year in May leaving backpack with computer in it along with our suit cases, and all was well.
Have used it. They make a copy of your passport and place your luggage on shelves behind a counter with a coppy of the passport page with each piece of luggage. You need to show your passport to get your luggage back. It seemed to work well. 3Eu per bag but it may be 4Eu by now. We did run into the left luggage door being locked while the agent was on break. To get to the left luggage place we used, face the train tracks with the train station behind you, turn left and walk down to the last two buildings on the left (the tracks are on your right). Turn left and go between the last two buildings and you will see the left luggage place.
Thank you for the responses, we are planning to travel in mid June, and of course my concern is safety of our belongings. Any tips you would like to share, please do so, we are going to Venice, Pisa, Rome and the Almafi Coast. 10 days to do it in, spending 4 to 5 in Rome. We are thinking the train will be our best method of travel, but again are open for suggestions. Will be traveling with a young teenager also.
