Pisa to Rome Train - Scenery

I'm in the early stages of planning for a trip next March to Italy.
One route option would be after CT, heading from Pisa to Roma. The Trenitalia website shows two routes Pisa to Rome(coastal route) via Livorno, Grosseto, etc or Pisa-Firenze-Roma. Both routes are around the same travel time. Is one route better from a scenery perspective?

Thx.

Thanks. That was the way I was leaning because of those reasons, the only benefit I see with the P-F-R route is the frequency of departures if there is no difference in the scenery.

are you sure that the activities you want to do in the Cinque Terre area will be available in March? They may be open but it would be worthwhile checking for so far into the off-season I would have thought.

We're there the last week of March. Accommodations aren't an issue, restaurants will be a little hit-or-miss but doable. We're mainly there for the hiking and trails tend to reopen in March(dependent on weather and if any damage is done during the winter). At least a good number were open this past March when I spot checked the national park website. Cold weather won't bother us, we're both avid hikers. That being said I've taken the step to book cancellable(24 hour notice) alternative plans in case trails close.
