My husband and I are planning a trip to Italy the summer of 2017. As of now, it happens that our Pisa day falls on the San Ranieri Festival day June 17. Will we enjoy that or should we avoid Pisa during that time? Thanks!

I would keep your plans, maybe add a day before. Festivals are so much fun, we attended a wine festival in bardolino on lago de garda few years ago. Food and craft booths, music and entertainment. people strolling, sitting at cafe having glass of wine, fireworks and having a great time. This festival seems to be like it but lighted candles everywhere and even in the river. Boat regatta next day, couldn't get any better. Find a hotel or bnb near river and book early, it will be a time you remember always!!
