We are planning to do a day trip to Pisa on August 15, 2018. I am wondering if Pisa gets shut down due to the Ferragosto holiday like many other cities in Italy. Does anybody know?

The city doesn’t shut down, but most businesses will. Shops will be largely closed and so will many restaurants. However in the proximity of the Piazza dei Miracoli something will be open to cater to the tourists.
