I am an older woman who will be spending one night in Pisa before leaving on a 6:30 am flight. My hotel is about 1k from Pisa Centrale Stazione, and I can certainly walk the distance easily, but it would be at 4:30 in the morning (at the end of October). Do you think it is safe for me to do so? Are there taxis that are willing to drive me such a short distance? Should I arrange for a taxi and go directly to the airport and skip the Pisa mover all together? Any suggestions? Thanks!
I would walk it - I know I walked it a few years ago, maybe not at 4:30 but pretty early. Still...is the People Mover running that early? Yes, I think I'd probably just do a taxi at that hour.
Thanks. The Pisa mover starts at 4:30 am. I feel ridiculous getting a taxi for such short rides, but......
It’s generally safe to walk at 04:30. Taxis will take you that distance. But the taxi fare to the airport is probably €10-12, while the fare to the Pisa Mover is probably not much less, so if you opt for the taxi, it makes sense to go all the way to the airport.
I'd use the method that Roberto suggested, and take the Taxi all the way to the airport. It would be prudent to have your hotel pre-arrange a Taxi the day prior to travel.
