We will arrive in Pisa close to midnight -- it's the only flight on the discount airline. I wonder if it's safe to sleep at the airport there. I hate to pay for a room for only a few hours. It seems late to arrive at a B & B. I appreciate any suggestions.
I know what you mean on staying in hotel for a few hours. I was recently in Cleveland and both the Cleveland and Chicago-Midway airports were closed due to weather. I did make it to Chicago-Midway after midnight and chose to spend $140 for 6 hours sleep.
I would suggest the Hotel Milano in Pisa. The rate is about 60Euro a night. It's 2 blocks from the train station. The train station is a 5 minute shuttle ride by train. Not sure if the train runs after midnight but it should. Mixed reviews on the hotel. It's #39 out of 54 on www.tripadvisor.com. Travelers like the rate and closeness to the train station but really squawk about the old man behind the counter (really).
