Hi all,
Doing planning for our late June trip to Italy. Staying at an agriturismo just outside San Gimignano to the south. Looking at prior posts on similar topics, I'm thinking of the following, but thought I'd check on feedback. There will be 7 of us (6 adults and a 10 year old) with two cars.
Day One: Day trip to Volterra. Thinking leaving SG around 9 AM and back to SG around 3:00 or so. Still researching things to do there, so any input on that would be great. Other things to see along the route to/from SG? Also wondering about parking (Same for Pisa and Lucca).
Day Two: Day trip to Lucca first, and then Pisa. Some of the advice I've seen on the board is to go to Lucca first and then mid-afternoon be in Pisa as the crowds are starting to die down. Still seem like a solid plan? Really I think Pisa is mostly to see the tower, and the cathedral and baptistry is right there so probably check those out. Open to thoughts on that and other things people think would be worthwhile. I kinda feel like this might be a lot of work to see this in Pisa with parking, etc, but one in the group really would like to go, so want to see if we can make it happen.
Thanks for your input on this!
