We are looking for a hotel in Pisa that has air conditioning. We are only staying for one night as we fly out the next day. Would anyone have any suggestions? We would like to be close to town but also close to a taxi area so that we could get to the airport for out 1:20pm flight back to the states. Thanks!
If you are staying in a hotel near the train station in Pisa, you don't need a taxi to the airport. Pisa is one of three cities in Italy that has an express train to the airport. 5 minutes from Pisa Centrale and you're there.
We stayed at the Allesandro della Spina in Steves' Italy book. Very nice- air-conditioned. Lovely breakfast. We took a cab from the train station-- there is a line out front. We came in from the Cinque Terre-straight to Pisa. They called us a cab to the airport early the next day. Good luck with that airport.
What is wrong with the airport?
Tennille.. Little, crowded, horrible food- non edible really and if you are flying a short hop to Rome on Ailitalia, our flight was 4 hours late for no apparent reason. We had to run, and I mean run through Rome to meet our Delta flight. Delta held the transatlantic flight because so many people were on the flight from Pisa. Get there early and bring food. Ha.
