Pisa daytrip

Planning a month-long trip in Sept/Oct. We're basically going Milan-Venice-Florence-Rome, with several stops in between. One leg is a couple of days in Lucca, then over to Florence with a day stop in Pisa. We're wondering if there is luggage storage at the Pisa train station for a few hours.

I'll be posting my itinerary in the next couple of weeks to solicit comments, but for now, I'd like to know about Pisa.

Thank you

Just read the post about a couple of train questions and it does say that Pisa Centrale has luggage storage. Anyone disagree?

Thank you

Ralph,

Yes, there is a baggage check desk at Pisa Centrale Station. Look for 'deposito bagagli', it's next to the police station at the far end of platform 1. (€4/bag for 12 hours, open daily 6am-9pm)

If you plan to climb the Tower, you might want to book your tickets in advance, otherwise you may have to wait.

There is luggage storage at the Pisa Centrale station, but if you are spending 2 nights in Lucca, you can go to Pisa for a 1/2 day trip very easily by bus, I've done it a couple of times. Hope you will be staying inside the walls in Lucca!

You will also find the bag storage area described in the Pisa chapter of Rick Steves' Italy, if you have that book.

Don't know about the luggage, but just wanted to say that we day tripped to Pisa from Lucca and it was great. We had 2 nights in Lucca, first afternoon we arrived, biked, had dinner, walked around. Day tripped next day, super easy. Back for another afternoon/evening in Lucca.

I am sure it's easy from Florence too, but Lucca was great!
