Pisa Centrale to Tower - last minute jitters and self questioning

The train that I am thinking about taking is scheduled to arrive at Pisa Central at 10:19. We have luggage to leave at the hold luggage at the train station. I have 12:00 tickets for the tower, however, we have to be there at 11:45 for handbag check. We would like to walk to the tower, but could take a bus or taxi to the tower and walk back if we are short on time. Is this enough time or should I consider an earlier train?

Depending how fast you walk or how much you stop and see along the way the walk is around 25-30 min from the train station to the tower.

The Left Luggage is at the end of the tracks near the polizia station in Pisa Centrale (unless they moved). The unknown will there be someone at the luggage stand to give you the ticket and take your bag. Will that person be on break when you are there and have to wait. But arriving at 10:20 you have over an hour and half to when you have to be at the tower. That's plenty of time to walk.

You can always go earlier if your schedule allows and see the church and bapistry before climbing the tower.

It’s about a 25-30 stroll from the station so I think you’ll have plenty of time. Of course if there’s a long line at the left luggage, you might want to grab a taxi. I doubt that you’ll have to take an earlier train.

There's another station in Pisa that's much closer to the tower and field of miracles: Pisa San Rossore

Tim, I don't believe Pisa San Rossore has left-luggage services. But I could be wrong.

Have gotten off at the Pisa San Rossore stop and there is nothing there. So no luggage storage.

We walked from the train to the tower with our luggage. Perhaps you can leave your lugguge at the ticket booth at the tower?

You have the option - if the train is late or you have a long wait to store your luggage, you can always take a taxi. Do allow enough time to see the rest of the sight - the church, the grounds, the baptistry . . . and, which I did not see, the cemetery.

Plus, there a a free video in the lobby of the museum, very school house rock-esque of attempts thru the centuries to straighten the tower

Thanks for the helpful advice. We had plenty of time to store our luggage and catch the bus.
