Pisa Airport (Galileo Galilei) to Florence by Train

We are planning a trip to Florence in the summer. The plan is to fly into Pisa, then take the train to Florence.

My question: Do you need to take the Pisa Mover to the Pisa Centrale Train Station, then get a train to Florence (Firenze Santa Maria Novella Stazione)?

If this is possible, kindly reply with the steps required.
Thank you.

Yes. You need to take the Pisa Mover (people mover) to the central station, then a train.
You can buy tickets at the ticket machines displayed in the photos in the website. It's only 2.70€.
The Mover makes an intermediate stop at a parking facility. That is also where you can take shuttle buses to Florence, if you prefer to take a bus. The travel time is about the same. After that the Mover goes to the train station.

Navigate the website below to become familiar with the Pisa Mover and to see what it looks like. It's pretty much like any people mover in any airport.

The line is just over one mile long and it cost 71 million euro ($80M) to build. Tuscans are pissed about that but if the knew that our similar Oakland-BART connector from the Oakland airport to the BART station (3.1 miles) cost $500 million, they would probably feel much better.

Follow the signs to the People Mover, it makes 2 stops and you want the last one.
Get a ticket to Florence either at the counter or at one of the automatic machines. Push the UK flag to make it work in English.

At Pisa Centrale Look for you train number on monitors, not for your destination. When they post the track number, head to it, time-stamp your tickets and get on the train.
As you already know, the blue signs by the platforms will say "Firenze S.M. Novella" not Florence.

Pisa is a through station, odds are that you'll have to use the subway connecting the tracks.

If you can find your flight in an huge airport you can find your train in a 17 tracks station.

You can get a good idea of the level of service on trenitalia.com/tcom-en . Enter Pisa fermata aeroporto in the "from" field, a day of travel before June 11 and an hour of departure around the hour your flight is supposed to land in Pisa.
