Pisa 1 nite and Florence 1 night

We land in Pisa just before midnight and want to explore a bit before going to Florence and then to Cinque Terre.
We are still looking for accommodation gems (clean, good location, $ or $$ budget priced as we will only be in our rooms to sleep) We need 1 double and 1 single- I am a Mom travelling with my daughter and her boyfriend. Any ideas welcome - recent experiences especially as we leave in four days - !!!!!
Thanks Again,

Clover: Did you mean to say you're flying into Pisa at midnight and then wanting to explore Pisa after your midnight arrival and then move on, in the same night to Florence?

Sorry for the misunderstanding - I did not word my question clearly.I was rushing . . . We land in Pisa (late Sat)and think we'll stay at Michele's Guest House that night (in process). We will leave the next day to Florence and stay Sun (and Mon?) night. THEN we go to Cinque Terre and have a week there. I am asking for any suggestions from people who have been to these places recently (the last year or so) because I am overwhelmed with all the research options and I am travelling with 2 young people who have travelled South America without any pre-bookings and had a magical time. I'm trying to combine preparation and Trust - with your help. I appreciate your suggestions and kindness.

Why are you flying into pisa? Was it cheaper than another city? The only thing to see in Pisa is the tower (not even worth the trip and time spent). There is not to much to explore there or see. I would get out of there as soon as possible and get yourself to Florence. Pisa is a waste of time compared to other parts if Italy.

Florence is one of the biggest 'hospitality and tourism' cities in the world, I believe Venere has over 500 registered hotels, and that's not even most of them!! I would pick an area that's close to everything, it makes it easier on you, especially after a long day of walking. I live here now, on the San Lorenzo Market. I really love it here, it's a great location. www.venere.com is a great option & you can narrow it down by area. I'd stay in the Duomo area, San Lorenzo, or Santa Croce (about a 5-7 minute walk to the duomo, but a beautiful area itself!).

There are so many , *, *** hotels to stay in. DON'T STAY ANYWHERE that advertises that it's in Santa Maria Nouvella, i've found it to be less favorable later at night. San Lorenzo is only a 5 minute walk from the train station and is 100% safe all hours of the day and night.

If you have any questions message me, I might be able to help you some.

Hi Clover, please consider staying at Hotel Il Bargellino in Florence. They do not serve breakfast but offer a refrigerator in each room to store food.

Clover I am so sad to here that you are not staying longer than the one full day in Florence and yet a week in CT. Hopefully u will be returning to Florence agin in the future as it is one of the most remarkable cities in the world!

Anyway, i had a friend stay at the Hotel Donetello. It was comfortable, clean and close to the major sites with sa continental breakfast i havent stayed there as we usualy stay at the Borghese Palace art Hotel or the Relais Santa Croce when we want to enjoy or stay even further. hopefully you will find something to satisfy your nights stay.
