In Sept. I am taking the train from Venice to Florence and then on to Sienna to pick up a car. Rick suggests taking the bus from Florence to Sienna because it us faster than the train, I believe the Sienna bus station is a ways from the car rental agency and I don't know how I get to the rental agency. What is the best way to get to the rental car agency in Sienna? Thanks.
Hi Doug,
My husband and I just returned from Italy yesterday. We took a bus from Florence to Sienna. We spent one night in Sienna then took a cab to the Hertz car rental center on the outskirts of town. I hope this is helpful.
I would take the train. Get out of the station, turn left and it's a 10 minute walk to the Hertz office. Much easier than dealing with a cab, unless it's raining of course!
What bus will you take from Florence to Sienna? I wonder if that same bus line goes from Milan to Sienna. We are staying in Cortona for 5 nights in May. I don't know if it goes to Cortona and we are deciding whether to rent a car in Milan and drive down or rent a car in the area.
A little warning about Hertz...we had a confirmed price that supposedly included our dropping the car off in a different place. But when we picked up the car, we were told it was an additional 60 euros if we didn't bring the car back to Siena. So a 24 hour rental that was supposed to cost 90 euros ended up costing 150.
