Piazza Roma-Taxi's?

We will be disembarking a cruise ship and have to catch a plane at 1PM. Are there taxi's in the Piazza that will take you to the aiport? How much time will it take and any idea of cost? Any insight to these questions would be appreciated.

Shelly, I am assuming you are disembarking in Venice and need to go from Piazzle Rome to one of the two airports. If so, yes there are taxis, but think about how many people may be trying to get them. Do a google search for "Private Car Service in Venice". There are at least two of them that service the port. They will cost a little more than a regular taxi, but that ride belongs to you!! They will probably pick you up at the dock so you do not even have to take the people mover to Piazzle Rome. Hope this helps. Let me know if you need any other assistance. TC

You can get a bus from Piazzale Roma to the airport. See the following website for information on the two bus services. http://europeforvisitors.com/venice/articles/venice_airport_buses.htm I have used both - would recommend ATVO - it takes about half-an-hour and the only stop is the airport. They use coaches so your luggage goes underneath. Check and see if your cruise line has some kind of transport from the Marina to the Airport - it may not be as reasonable but it might be a lot more convenient. I have been at Marco Polo Airport at the same time as cruise ship passengers and it was chaotic - the departures hall was jammed solid, so make sure you get there as early as you can.

Our flight doesn't leave until 1PM. so maybe things might not be as caotic as early morning. I will check out both your suggestions.
