We're considering one of these two places for our fifth trip to Italy next year in May. I'm wondering if anyone has been to both and can do a quick "compare and contrast" with them.
Places we've enjoyed the most in the past are Verona, Orvieto, Assisi, and Bergamo (and Rome, of course).

I love Ferrara! It's a great place, happy hour in the main piazza is super.
Have you been to Ravenna?
Haven't done Ravenna yet, either. We have done Bologna and it was okay. (We had rainy weather, which never helps.)
Ferrara is good.
Get a bike. Ferrara is like China, circa 1970. Everybody is on a bike. I think all Ferraresi are born on one.
