Linda, It's difficult to make a suggestion, without having some idea of your intended uses? Are you planning calls back to the U.S., do you need to be accessible from home or just planning to call Hotels occasionally to confirm reservations? Buying an inexpensive PAYG phone is certainly one option. It would also help to know whether you currently have a Cell phone, and if so which network you're with?
