Sorry for another covid question...our Viking cruise requires a covid antigen test within 24 hours of boarding (where we immediately get another one). With the reduced protocols now in effect in Italy, does anyone know if the local pharmacies (I will be in Varenna) still give the lab-certified, quick antigen tests?
Thanks,
David
When it's almost time to leave for Italy, Search on this site: https://farmacia-aperta.eu/ between 9:30 and 12:30, or between 15:30 and 19:30 (Italian time).
You must check the "Tamponi" box on the left and zoom in. Today, for example, there is a pharmacy making tests in Bellano and 10 more in Lecco.
That is very helpful, Dario!
I tried moving it to the Perugia/Rome region, and it looks like it’s only for the Lombardy region. Is there another site for that area, or am I doing something wrong?
It would be nice to find a map for Rome. The two places I had located no longer do covid testing and I would love to find someplace close to where I am staying.
Thanks, Dario. The website you mentioned, however, was blocked by my security program. Do you know if this website is unreliable?
David
According to Chrome is a safe site with a valid certificate. Unreliable or not, You are not supposed to enter your credit card number, they don't sell anything. It's a one-page site, All you have to do is zoom into a map of Lombardy that seems made with Open Street Maps.
We had no problems getting a test Saturday in Siena. Walked into the closest pharmacy on Friday and made an appt for the next day. €20 Rach, results with printed certificate in ten minutes, and they worked fine for our flights.
My fear is since Italy is scaling back their Covid protocols, when I leave there on June 6 to fly home, it will be hard to find a place to test (especially on a Sunday). I'm still hoping the US drops this requirement soon.
Yes - though not at all pharmacies. Good to make reservation.
