The Genoa airport is allowing passengers to take pesto on board their aircraft in excess of 100g. But there is a small catch. (It[s good.)
Pesto excluded from liquid ban
Solo in Italia!!

Brilliant!
But you will still have a problem with other airports if you go through security again there before heading home. I cannot see LHR or other major international airports honoring the special sticker.
Many airports have the special scanner for liquids larger than 100ml. It is usually used for baby formula and medical liquids.
You could claim the pesto is a medical necessity. ;-)

The article did stipulate that the flight had to be a direct one. No connections.
.
Just pack into your checked baggage.
I'm waiting for the Florence airport to do the same with Brunello.
Those were the days! 3 bottles of Grappa from Bassanno d. Grappa before TSA limits.
Roberto! Perfect!!
And I think Mark is right, surely the magical elixir is a medical necessity!
I am packing now for a trip home to the States on Friday . . and was just thinking it's now what 12 years that we have these liquids restrictions and what a PAIN they are!!!! I feel like I can't remember a time when we didn't have to keep all this in mind (although I was 35 then and had done a lot of international -- and U.S.-- travel at the time).
Ugh.
Roberto let me know when that happens I want to order a couple of bottles since I am just across the bay from you in California.
I think as long as you don't leave security, you should be okay. That said, I think ligurian pesto is a prime candidate for bottle shock.
