How difficult is it to travel from Pescare to Lucca Italy? If driving, is it best to set up before you arrive there? We are arriving in Rome on Thursday May 2 and plan to take the train to Pescare and then leave on Sunday May 5 to travel to a villa in Lucca.

I assume you mean Pescara in Abruzzo? It is 5 to 6 hours to Lucca whether by car or train. If you will need a car while in Lucca, you could rent in Pescara and drive, or take the trains (2 changes) and rent in Lucca, or maybe take the train to Bologna (no changes) and rent your car there to drive the final leg. I would definitely reserve in advance.

I think we will need a car while in Pescara because we were planning a day trip to Villa Santa Maria, my family‘s hometown. We may have a driver while staying in Lucca at the Villa, trying to figure that out. Thank you for your response
