I need to travel from Pescara to Sorrento next week (end of Feb) in the late afternoon or evening. I am having trouble determining the fastest evening route there - don't care if it is bus or train. Would prefer few to no transfers.

It's at least 6.5 hours, so not sure if you want to leave that late. The journey necessitates at least 3 train changes. Also only a commuter train goes to Sorrento. A rental car will get you there faster, but it's still a 4 hr. trip at least. Use Trenitalia.com to find train options. Use Napoli Centrale as destination. Then At Napoli Centrale you can take the Vesuviana commuter train to Sorrento.
