I am going back to Italy in June and staying in Sorrento for a week. I was then going to go back up to Cinque Terre for 5 days but now I am thinking I might like to see the east coast instead. Would you travel to Pescara or Bari? Pescara is much closer to Rome (where I fly out of) but Bari is closer to Sorrento via Naples?
Any opinions? which would you choose?
Are you driving or taking trains/buses?
Especially if you're driving (though public transportation does exist), you might enjoy try to visit some of the striking small towns in Puglia, like Alberobello, Monopoli and Polignano a Mare (though there are many more). The three I've listed are all south of Bari. It's likely to be pretty hot in June, though.
actually taking the trains while in Italy. I am open to any city on the east coast but don't want to lose too much time travelling.
