We want to spend a week in Umbria, with the ability to do day trips to its many great places like Assisi, Spoleto, etc.
We like what we read about Perugia and taking the trains from there. Any recommendations for lodging?

We stayed at this hotel back in 2006.
It was just fine, and central for walking everywhere.
Looks like it's still operating.
