I just finished reading several threads about Perugia and I seem to be more confused than ever! We will be staying in Spello in October and want to spend a day (or part of a day) in Perugia. I thought we would take the train, but I see it's a distance from the Centro Storico. Escalators or mini metro from there? I really don't want to walk up all those stairs! We will have a car. Is it easier to park near the mini metro? I guess the part I don't get is where the escalators go vs. where the mini metro goes and what is more convenient. Any help is certainly appreciated. Also, looking for restaurant recs. Is a half day enough time to explore the city?
I stayed in Perugia before. The mini metro that takes you up to the old town is near the the main train station about 4 minutes on foot to your left exiting the train station
Here are directions mapped out on Google

Thank you! This seems like the best solution whether we drive or take the train. So, where is the escalator system then?
