Personal driver in Florence?

Looking for recommendations for a personal tour guide to drive 3 people to and from from Florence to nearby interests (Tuscany, etc.) Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi and welcome to the forums, Christi -
A quick look in forum history for previous inquiries/recos for driver/guides turns up very little. I'm guessing that's because there is a difference between a driver and a licensed guide, and because of the significant cost of hiring a private service for multiple days. Also be aware that a driver can't just rock directly up to all attractions due to locally restricted driving zones and pedestrianized areas so your sightseeing - depending on what you want to do - can involve quite a lot of walking.

All of that said, Paola Migliorini/Florence Tours turned up a couple of prior mentions (I've no personal experience with her), and the website claims that she and her husband have a long-standing relationship with Mr. Steves himself. Recent reviews are also very positive so you might give them a shout?

Hopefully you'll get a few other responses!

I have used Prestige Rent for a small group tour from Florence we did their 3 gem tour that was wonderful.
I also booked a private driver on my last trip with them that was exactly what I wanted for my husband and I.

Hope this helps

Again, Christi, I'll caution to read all of the info provided by each service carefully. It's still in question whether you mainly want a driver and plan to sightsee on your own, or a driver/licensed guide who will also provide narrated walking tours of the listed towns + any entry tickets needed. The word "tour" can be broadly applied to a variety of services.

Depending on budget, some escorted small-group tours might do you just fine, and some of the popular locations in Tuscany, such as Lucca, are not difficult to travel to on one's own from Florence. Anyway, there are multiple options and none of them are wrong if they suit interests and pocketbook! :O)

Thanks all!
Kathy I should have added to my first post that we were looking to visit a winery or two in the Tuscany region. :)
I shall post about our experience with the recommended business that was able to accommodate our schedule.
