We're going to be in the Naples/Amalfi area (based in Sorrento) on Pentecost. Does anyone have any suggestions about special church services, processions, festivals, in the region? Last year we were in Spain the same time of year. We lucked into the Pentecost celebration in Barcelona's cathedral square (sardana, gigante puppets, human towers - highly recommended), but unthinkingly made Corpus Christi a travel day, missing a grand procession in Granada, our destination. Don't want that to happen again! Thanks for your help.

I don't know how Italy will celebrate these holidays, but religious celebrations will usually center around the main church or cathedral in each town. You might find some info through the Sorrento Tourist Office or can email them: [email protected].
